Our family has been born there and died there for generations. Ike was a friend to the family. He pursued some of my family members as a flame and as a Prosecuting Attorney of Lafayette County.Ike was genuine, down to earth, stayed in his home in Lexington whenever possible, and HONEST. He was a great person in his personal life and public life. Monday. Ike Skeltons funeral with military honors. After funeral, visit relatives and friends and then come back to Marionville. Tuesday. At a large all day event on the square in Springfield. Everyone reading this is welcome to attend.There will be marches, speakers, and a hodgepoge of various groups and ideologies united with one goal and message to the Federal Government. He is very calculating and very intelligent. Some perceive him as Slick Billy.People say if he put as much energy serving MO-7 as he does in being re-elected, he would be an excellent Congressman. Money does win elections. We have run the stats over and over again. Unless we meet or beat his available funds, we will have a very rough road ahead of us. Jim Evans who is running as a Democrat in MO-7 released a statement on facebook that we met and he considers me a friend. We feel the same way about Mr. Evans. We are a lot alike though we are probably more radical if you read the fine piece the Springfield-Newsleader ran on Jim and me. Billy Longs office didnt return numerous phone calls and was left out of the story as a result. We met at the Corner Cafe in Clever, MO with Mr.Evans along with another wonderful person who drove a long distance to be there. The meeting lasted two hours. There were no disagreements, no fighting, unlike Congress in DC. Mr. Evans had another meeting, so the remaining two of us stayed at the cafe until it closed. Thank you . This week we met with vets at the Veterans Hospital cafeteria in Mt. Vernon for about two hours. They were very honest concerning the campaign and on a personal level. Very much appreciate.
