Vinitha nominated me to list the ten books that have stayed with [me] in some way, trying to do which only confirmed my suspicions that I read very few books (that, too, only in English, despite being nominally bilingual), finish fewer still, and am not as discerning a reader as I would like to believe I am. Nevertheless, I did manage to come up with ten books - barely - that I can, honestly, say have stayed with me, somewhat, and, as such, are my favourite books. In descending order of preference, they are: 01. The Day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsyth (goo.gl/SA1qi0) 02. Sherlock Holmes Canon by Arthur Conan Doyle (goo.gl/LsaZvi) 03. Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne (goo.gl/YNXQfy) 04. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon 05. The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro 06. Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates (goo.gl/IAELVi) 07. Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell 08. The Alexander Trilogy by Valerio Massimo Manfredi 09. The Face of Battle by John Keegan (goo.gl/AJ7WDE) 10. Seeing Like A Feminist by Nivedita Menon (goo.gl/DHynGf) I now nominate Shatarupa Bhattacharyya, Nimisha Singh Pattnaik & Ankita Kishore to list, in descending order of preference, their ten favourite books.
