Violation of RA 8550 (Fisheries Code) in Dimasalang, Masbate OOA 9:00 AM, January 7, 2015, at the municipal seawater of Sitio Deagan, Brgy. Magcaraguit, Dimasalang, Masbate, elements of Dimasalang MPS together with Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (MFARMC)-Dimasalang while conducting seaborne patrol operations arrested William Baguio Salundaga, 47 years old, married, fisherman and a residents of Brgy. T.R. Yanco, Dimasalang, Masbate while actually engaging in illegal fishing with the use of dynamite. Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were one blue paddled fishing boat, two boxes match, three pieces fish scoop, three pieces flippers, one piece goggle, two pieces speargun, one wooden paddle and five kilos suspected dynamited fish locally known as “moblad”. The arrested suspect and the recovered paddled fishing boat and other fishing paraphernalia are now under the custody of Dimasalang MPS for proper disposition while the confiscated suspected dynamited fishes were submitted to BFAR, Dimasalang, Masbate for scientific examination.
