Vipers, #Express fire blanks Vipers stayed top of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) despite being held goalless by Express at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Tuesday. The result that left Vipers coach Edward Golola frustrated saw the 2010 champions spun the chance to extend their lead at the summit to eight points on a day second-placed KCC lost to URA. Instead, Vipers moved to 30 points, six ahead of KCC, while the equally uninspiring Express remained fourth, nine points behind the leaders. Vipers enjoyed plenty of possession but with little, if any, bite upfront. Dan Oyirwoth had the visitors’ best opportunity in the second half after beating two defenders in the box. Oyirwoth opted to pass when shooting seemed the best option. There was little to write about Express. This was the first time Vipers, who have won nine of their 12 games, were failing to score.
