Virginia Plain was the first hit single for Roxy Music, but the song was not included in the original version (the UK version) of their debute album Roxy Music. The song appeared however on the USA version of the album. The cover of Roxy Music (once those covers were very important) was in 1950s-style, which reflected the style of their lyrics. The photgrapher Karl Stoecker shot the cover, featuring model Kari-Ann Muller. Kari-Ann married later Chris Jagger, brother of Mick Jagger who was (and is) leadsinger of a UK band called the Rolling Stones.
