Virtual Walkers Have you heard about HA’s Virtual WALK option? The “virtual WALK” is for people who can’t be AT the WALK on the day of the event – they may have to work, they may be out of town, they may have plans that were made months ago. Whatever the reason, just because a participant can’t physically attend the WALK doesn’t mean they can’t be part of a WALK team and part of the WALK. Virtual Walkers should register – just as “regular” walkers do – but instead of choosing “Participant” during the registration process choose “Virtual Walker” instead. Then raise money from family and friends. Virtual walkers qualify for prizes just like the other WALK participants, including the WALK T-shirt if they raise $50 or more. Any money raised by virtual walkers will count toward their team’s overall total (provided they chose a team during registration) and the local WALK site’s overall total. It’s the next best thing to being there! If there is no HA WALK in your community you can register to participate as a virtual walker for HA’s national “Virtual WALK.” Then complete the “walking” portion in your own neighborhood at a day and time that’s convenient for you.
