Virtually every “Die Hard Cougar” fan intensely watches every play of WSU football regardless as to whether they are playing good, bad or somewhere in between. It’s part of our DNA. Nothing wrong with reminding why that should be easier to do these days. Yes, completing the job Saturday night should be rewarding for DHC’s. Watching the young guns earning their chops should not escape your thoughts when this edition of Cougar football takes the field. For example: • With true freshman Frankie Luvu making his collegiate debut against Utah, 22 players have now made their WSU debuts this season including 16 freshmen (5 true freshmen) • True freshman Sulaiman Hameed made his first career start, starting at free safety while racking up 3-tackles • RS freshman Gerard Wicks’ 24-yard run was the longest by WSU this season. Wicks rushed for a season-high 56-yards • Sophomore River Cracraft matched a career high with nine catches for a career-high 126 yards, his second-straight 100-yard game • RS freshman Jamal Morrow rushed for a season-high 48-yards and finished the game with 113-all purpose yards • Junior Jeremiah Allison made a career-high 13-tackles, his second-straight double-digit tackle game • Sophomore Daquawn Brown recorded 9 tackles, 5 solo and one for a 4-yard loss • RS freshman Darius Lemora made 6 tackles, 4 of which were solo • RS freshman Charleston White totaled three tackles, two solo • Across the offensive line you have sophomore Riley Sorensen at center, RS sophomore Edwardo Middleton at right guard and RS freshman Cole Madison at right tackle Given the continued progress through on-job-training this team is making, the balance of this season and the future for Cougar football is very, very bright.
