Visibility tip - I did 8 podcast interviews last month, will do 10 this month and have 7 scheduled already for December. This doesnt happen by accident. 90% of these people dont approach me - Im going after them and pitching myself as a guest. Part of this is looking at my business and seeing where I can add the most value. Since my content marketing (video, blogs, newsletter, social media) is largely batched and automated, I was finding myself procrastinating on Facebook or doing other busy work, just to feel useful. When I looked at my zone of genius - things in my business that ONLY I can do - it was communication. Talking to people and spreading my message. As an introvert - Im not big on leaving the house and finding speaking gigs all over town or in other cities. It makes me itchy to think about putting on a bra and networking. Podcasts are great because I can wear my PJs on the bottom and just turn up and speak. Highly recommend making this part of your marketing strategy! Heres another tip. Outsource the pitching. I get my assistant to do it because Id get all triggered and probably chicken out. Plus, shes way more organised than I am. So - look at your business and think about just one or two really simple things that are both in your zone of genius AND will make a big impact.
