Visible Scholarship Initiative research presentation series. Our first installment this spring 2014 is Matt Heaton’s Black skin, white coats: Nigerian psychiatrists, decolonization, and the globalization of psychiatry. Matt Heaton’s presentation for the Visible Scholarship Initiative will be Thursday, January 23, 2:00-3:00, in the Learning Commons, second floor, Newman Library. Please be sure to advertise this presentation you your colleagues and students. The Library will be marketing the presentation also. Everyone is invited to attend. The Visible Scholarship Initiative is a collaboration between the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and the University Libraries that seeks to make visible the stages of research and creative scholarship in the liberal arts and human sciences. Illustrating how faculty address key questions, employ varied methods, and produce significant results makes it possible to acknowledge and encourage research and creative activities that engage challenging questions and demonstrate sophisticated understanding.
