Vision solar installed all these meters and two arrays of panels - TopicsExpress

Vision solar installed all these meters and two arrays of panels on the roof of my house last week. There is an array on the garage roof and another array above the garage to the right. It is supposed to be 95% effective. I will have two power bills, one from Nevada Energy and another from Visions parent company. Not sure what the actually savings will be yet but so far I have not spent one red cent to install the panels. Vision guarantees an annual increase of no more than 2.9% in power costs as opposed to Nevada Energys steady increases of 6% per annum or more. So, that alone will save us lots of money over time. With so many people moving to Henderson from California and elsewhere to live in a sunny clime, it is important to go solar NOW. Of course that wont solve the ongoing drought and imminent water shortages throughout the western states but it will ease dependency on hydro-electric power when there is not enough water to run the turbines at Hoover Dam. About 89% of the power from the dam is allotted to California and Arizona, only 11% goes to Las Vegas. My power bill without solar in the winter is about $90, in the summer it tops $220 with the air running all day in my 1500 sq.ft. house. In Palmdale,California,by comparison, power bills top $850-$900 a month for a 2000 sq. ft. house in the hot summer months to keep the AC running all day. People are working two jobs in California just to pay the utilities and mortgage....so solar power is essential to lighten their load.
