Its roof made from an old millstone, it is a rare inland lighthouse located on Lake Corrib, erected as a private initiative by the local landlord Sir Henry Lynch. Local stories vary as to its purpose, was it a) to secure the delivery of provisions, or b) to safeguard his arrival home back from the pubs in Galway? What do you think? Thanks to Henry and Anika for the pics taken from the lake!
