Visit with Joe on Tuesday: He remains in the cardiac care unit at memorial. I talked with the social worker today and it looks like Joe will transfer to: RiverCrest Specialty Hospital 1625 East Jefferson Boulevard Mishawaka, IN 46545 Tel: 574-255-1400 (Wednesday or Thursday) I talked with his cardiologist today and he still believes at this time that no cardiac intervention is necessary. His labs were a little off this morning and will be checked again in the am. Potassium was a little low. If they are stable he will transfer on Wednesday to RiverCrest. I will let you all know when he does transfer. RiverCrest is an acute setting which will provide him with the wound care for his arm as well as the physical therapy he needs to regain his strength. He stood at the bedside with a walker today but was unable to take a step. We know it will be a long road but the plan is for him to stay there for 3 weeks. His primary care MD Dr. Gatzimos will follow him there. Joe was glad to hear this. He will also continue with respiratory therapy and wound care. I talked to him about the house today and he agrees that we need to move to something easier for him to get around in.
