Visited Central Prison Hyderabad, Youthful Industrial School Hyderabad, Women Prison Hyderabad along with 10 members delegation included lawyers, interpreters and female advocates to closely observe the situation of lady prisoners. Visit remain useful many ways. This visit exposed to internee lawyers to REFUGEE LAW, FOREIGN ACT and Jail Protocols. To some senior lawyers, opportunity to interviews prisoners, prison staff on detention and rehabilitation. I am grateful to lawyers who trust, and have joined our PRO BONO TEAM CONSORTIUM FOR THE PROTECTION OF REFUGEE RIGHTS (RightsNow Pakistan & Human Rights Alliance) provide legal assistance to refugees, national prisoners in need and monitoring Detention and discouraging authorities to detain children and women. Advocate Shama Mughal, Advocate Sartar Panhwar, HC Lawyer and expert, Advocate Rizwan Lashari, energetic, Advocate Imran Khan laghari, led the mission, Advocate Ghulam Hussain Gadhi, senior advocate and enthusiastic lawyer, and Mr Shahid Babar, whose support to us is always vital for soliciting cases and conducting surveys of jails etc. We are also thankful to Afghan Refugee Leaders Gul Khan, Haji G Rasool (both registered at UNHCR) for supporting in identifying Afghan nationals in prisons and providing them legal aid. Also thanks to interpreters who did this hard task for us. Fatima Baloch for translating Persian to Urdu and Sindhi and Gul Din from Pashtu persian to refugees. Madam Shama Mughal is well connected and already in legal aid to prisoners. We are happy to share with you that prison authorities under leadership of Nusrat Mangan IG Sindh Prison is very receptive to human rights, children rights and prisoners rights concept. We are thankful to Younis Masih, Sup Central Prison, Madam Munawar Sultana Sahiba, Sup: and Ass Sup: Madam Humair Khoso Women Prison Hyderabad, Mansoor Ahmed Sidiqui, Sup Juvenile Prison, Makhdoom Karim Abbasi Sup: Juvenile Prison. Sain Shahnawaz Sand sahib for their cooperation and support to us in the fulfilment of this task/cause. During this visits we also saw the creation of prisoners, childrens painting and women handicrafts- we are hopeful we are going to rehabilitate those in prisons - Finally a messsage of Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN) that promote and protect refugees rights and International Detention Coalition moto (Use alternatives to detention for children and women) was conveyed to the authorities. We are thankful for the HCBAs (Nisar Durani, Ayaz Tunio, and team) STAND BY SUPPORT for human rights and prisoners rights.
