Visited UK yesterday for the first time since her last bout of Optic Neuritis to review her progress. Alexas existing optic nerves seem to be willing to allow her to see with corrective lenses and her peripheral vision is back! We lost some color but she still has more than she did. Unfortunately, part of her optic nerves have died in both eyes to some extent (about a third) and we are now on a waiting pattern to see if more nerve will die in the future. Since we could not pinpoint the cause of her episodes they cant guarantee she wont have Optic Neuritis again in the near future. In fact, they believe she will at any time! If she does she will lose more of her sight if not all. They have also confirmed they believe she will have active MS in the next few years. Waiting to see if my child is going blind is nerve racking! Going to fight this! We need to find the trigger to control it so she can get well. Prayers to find this trigger would be appreciated! It may save whats left of her sight! Thanks and God Bless!
