Visited a couple of old friends as soon as I got to Moultrie....the two bridges at Smithwick....crossing the Ochlochnee River. My photos are not as good as one posted of another bridge a couple days ago...but I still love these two old bridges in our part of the County. I dont know the measurements, but I would guess that each one is well over 50 yards long....dont know of any bridge thats longer anywhere around...and theres two! Ill never forget when our trail riding club would clomp, clomp as many as 40 horses across the bridges .....sounded like Shermans calvary had returned to Ga.The trees overhanging the bridges are not as pretty as they once were...but then again, neither am I. Thank you...for letting me walk across your timbers again...I shared this visit with my granddaughter Skylar....shell never ever know how special it was for me to have her accompany me to this special place. We rode past the old Oak tree where I grew up, past our farm, down Paul Murphy road to Merry Pines. Good to see Bonnie again...if she cant make you feel good about yourself.....well, you in a heap of trouble.
