Visited a western museum. Of course all very interesting. It was a rough life, for men, women and animals. Saw a photo of a woman riding an elk. Pretty good position..(legs could have been back a little more) lol Some of the bits and spurs were horrendous; others not bad at all. I found out what "Saddle Rolls" are. Pieces of leather tacked on either side of the saddle horse to give the cowboy a little more help if he was about to come off. I remember when I was a girl in Montana we were told it was a great sin to "grab leather" to stay on.....better to come off. Now of course I would grab onto anything I could reach!!!
