Visiting my old building and Ken Leviss apartment last night really tugged my nostalgia heartstrings. Kens cat Peanut didnt recognize me at first but eventually she came out of hiding and rolled around for a belly rub. Im still the only human other than Ken she lets pet her. It was sweet and sad and touching. I dont miss the noise and chaos on the streets, nor the insanely high prices, crowds, and glamour, but I did have a life here that I loved and a safe little corner of my own.
