Visualization of a particular body movement can improve the actual - TopicsExpress

Visualization of a particular body movement can improve the actual biomechanical function of the movement when it is preformed. This study has been preformed on exercising and non exercising people in which they where made to visualize exercise for 2 hours a day. Only visualize, they where given a baseline test on 3 exercises that required muscle strength and coordination. They did not exercise at all over the 8 weeks but where required to maintain a normal standard of living as to not be sedentary. Over a 8 week period they only visualized these exercises they performed at baseline and focused on how they felt and what there bodies should do to improve. After 8 weeks of visualization they all gained improvement. Although not large changes from baseline, still positive changes none the less. So the mind over matter statement is very true. You are what you think you are and can do what you think you can.
