Vodafone Comedy Carnival, Galway - Stand Up Showdown Stand up comedy is cruel enough without turning it into a competition but we’ve done just that. Sixteen of Ireland’s bravest comedians will go head to head, in a comedic war of wits until there’s only one left standing. Each comedian gets just two minutes to impress the audience, then half are immediately eliminated by audience vote. Eight lucky survivors then have three minutes each before again being reduced by half to only four – and so on until the cut throat final round. This glorious victor will walk away with the spoils of war while fifteen losers slink off into the night muttering about the ‘bad crowd’. Its hosted by Danny Dowling fresh from slaying all before him as MC for the Electric Picnic Comedy Tent.
