Voice Stress Analysis Confirms Officer’s Statement in Ferguson Case Forensic Solutions Confirms Verdict Montgomery County, TX (December 4, 2014) – On August 9, 2014 a tragic event occurred in Ferguson Missouri where a police officer was faced with the ultimate decision, Shoot - v - Don’t Shoot. On this day Officer Darren Wilson stopped his patrol car to speak to a pair of young black men as they walked down the middle of the street. The details of the initial contact, and subsequent struggle leading to the shooting death of Michael Brown, may only truly be understood by those directly involved. After months of deliberation over the detailed accounts of witnesses, and Officer Wilson himself, a Grand Jury decided that there was no criminal action to be taken against the officer. ABC’s George Stephanopoulos conducted an interview with Officer Wilson on November 25, 2014 after the decision where the officer’s account of the incident was now being heard for the first time. It is from this interview that the statements given by Officer Wilson have been verified as truthful through a process called Forensic Voice Stress Analysis. Retired Police Detective Brad Schlerf, CEO of Forensic Solutions Inc. on November 25, 2014 was asked to review the contents of this interview, and conduct a voice stress analysis from the audio track of the video interview to determine if the statements provided were truthful, or if they indicated deception which could leave the whole account in question. This analysis process unlike the well-known polygraph, can be done from recorded interviews were direct questions are asked and immediate direct answers are given. It is from the use of this investigative tool that many cold cases are now being brought into a new light. “In the case of Officer Wilson we are pleased to see his statement was truthful. Although the event resulted in a tragic outcome, it was not compounded with actions of a bad shoot, or a deceptive story”, said Brad Schlerf.
