Volcano Art Prize (VAP) has a $500 cash prize and anyone can enter! The LEAD Group set up its Volcano Art Prize (VAP) competition in order to generate artworks, photos and short films which can best represent visually, various aspects of lead safety such as testing before renovating old paint, eating foods which detox lead from the body, how to grow home produce without your vegies or eggs being contaminated by lead in soil, etc. VAP is open to the public and professional photographers / artists / photojournalists alike so get your entries in for the 2014 competition, by the deadline – Monday 25th August! The VAP People’s Choice Award each year is decided by Facebook Likes and has a $500 cash prize, as well as publication of the winning entry on the following year’s Catalogue / Lead-Safe World Calendar. There are 43 fabulous prizes – chosen by the VAP judge - in addition to the cash prize, and the 13 best entries will illustrate the 2015 Lead-Safe World Calendar, to be launched during International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week of Action (19th-25th October 2014) – a week set up by the World Health Organisation at the behest of The LEAD Group.
