Vollerism for 3/17/14 I went to a funeral home yesterday to visit a fellow bagpipers mom who passed away this week. Seeing all the people there, the flowers, the smiling, comforting faces and words spoken for the deceased reminds me of our own mortality, which is a whole other subject. For not ever even meeting this woman who passed, even laying there, she had the look of kindness on her face. The people all who were there said she was a very sweet lady, and the flowers and pictures of her alive plainly illustrated that she probably was. Its so sad to see the daughters face smiling to hold back the tears. I once had a friend of mine tell me he doesnt do funerals. I remember how cold this sounded because we all know how awesome the support feels seeing your friends and family there with you for your loss. The kindness expressed for those who lose someone is not just going to the funeral home. Its also talking to the deceased family members, trying to give them all something to look forward to. The deceased hopefully look forward to eternal light. We left here need to give to others, something to look forward to, accompanied with kindness.
