Voluntary role available with Scotland Wheelchair Rugby League: Treasurer RESPONSIBLE TO: Chair of Scotland Wheelchair Rugby League RESPONSIBLE FOR: No Staff responsibilities SALARY BAND: Voluntary, expenses covered HOURS OF WORK: Such hours as are necessary to fulfil the requirements of your position to the satisfaction of Scotland Wheelchair Rugby League, and may include work in evenings, on weekends and public holidays as required LOCATION: Mobile Workplace TENURE: This job will be offered for the term of the contract PERIOD OF NOTICE: 30 days Job Purpose The Treasurer is responsible for the management of the group’s accounts and its financial dealings. Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities: Be fully aware of the financial position of the group at all times and keep the committee informed of all financial trends and areas of concern Renew insurances annually Issue receipts and promptly deposit all monies received Be responsible for ensuring that adequate records are kept regarding the groups financial transactions Prepare and present accounts for the end of year financial report and audit Financial planning, including producing an annual budget and monitoring it throughout the year To help prepare and submit any statutory documents that are required (e.g. VAT returns, PAYE and NI returns, tax returns, grant aid reports) Keeps currently informed of legal, regulatory and sector developments relating to the Board’s financial responsibilities. Person Specification: Outstanding organisational and communication skills Has a “can do” attitude, focusing on solutions to problems Effective administrator who has experience producing planning documents and reports Committed to continuous personal and organisational improvement Conveys an image that is consistent with Scotland Wheelchair Rugby League values, demonstrating qualities, traits and demeanour that has a positive performance effective on other members Working knowledge of key partners: Scotland RL, Sports Councils, Local Authorities, The RFL, etc. This job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive.
