Volunteer Fire Fighters Vending Machines Burglarized Detectives Seeking ID of Suspect on Video Surveillance On September 26, 2014, a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputy responded to a complaint of a theft at the District 11 Fire Sub Station #3 on Highway 83 in Glencoe. The vending machine located outside of the station had been broken into. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that a second vending machine located outside of the A.J. Landry Four Corners station on Big Four Corners Road had also been burglarized. Surveillance video from that location shows a subject breaking into the machine at about 2:30 am on Friday. $95 in coins was taken in both crimes and a total of $500 dollars in damage was done to the machines in both incidents. According to Fire Chief Clarence Clark, proceeds from the vending machines benefit the volunteer fire fighters in that district. Detectives are working to identify the subject seen on video surveillance at the Four Corners station. Anyone with information on the case may contact the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-828-1960 or by email at crimewatch@stmaryso.
