Volunteer Receptionist, The Garage, Norwich Hours: 4+ The things we need help with: We are looking for someone who can provide us with high quality reception and customer services on our front line reception desk. This would include: • Welcoming and directing customers • Providing first point of contact for face-to-face enquiries and defer queries as necessary • Answering telephone calls and directing these to the correct person • To ensure that the reception desk and front of house areas are tidy and presentable • To stock and tidy fliers, posters and other point of sale information in the front of house areas • To log and report maintenance issues as reported • To help set up and tidy rooms of furniture and equipment. If you have mobility issues or feel that this may be a problem, please let us know The type of person we need: We are looking for a volunteer who is: • Friendly and able to act in a professional manner • Inquisitive and enjoys meeting and talking to new people • Committed to providing equal opportunities to all and protecting children • Interested in the work of The Garage, the arts and young people • Keen to be an active member of our small team • Keen to help us provide excellent customer care Things you need to know: It is important that you understand that: • You will be provided with a uniform and identification which must be work at all times whilst volunteering • Before we can let you start we will need to undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service) check. We will pay for this but you will need to provide documents to evidence your identity and disclose any previous convictions to us. • You will need to abide by all of our policies and procedures, just like one of our employees. You will be given full training and an induction so that you are fully familiar with them. • You will be provided with full training as necessary to help you in your volunteering duties • This is a short term voluntary position aimed at enabling you to develop skills and experience. We are not able to pay for your time however we will reimburse reasonable out of pocket expenses. The level of this will need to be agreed with the Operations and Production Manager prior to commencement of the placement. All receipts will need to be provided for any out of pocket expenditure claimed. Is this you? .
