Volunteer Sorter/Merchandiser The mission of Dress for Success Toronto is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged men by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help men thrive in work and in life. Our Volunteer Sorters/Merchandisers are instrumental to the Suiting Program, our unique wardrobe service that helps clients look impressive, feel confident, and find a job. RESPONSIBILITIES Sorting items donated for the boutique Assimilating donated items into the boutique Merchandising the boutique Ensuring that the appearance of our boutique is at the level of well-kept department store Other boutique related volunteer roles as required VOLUNTEER TRAINING PROVIDED Orientation including a tour of the facility and introductions to other staff and volunteers Position training including review of specifics of the role with supervisor QUALIFICATIONS Willing to commit to a weekly or bi-weekly volunteer shift (minimum 2 hours) at Dress for Success Toronto for at least six months. Shifts are available on Mondays between the hours of 10:00am – 4:00pm Willing to participate in orientation and training Has a respectful, supportive and non-judgmental attitude towards the clients’ needs and concerns Has good communication and listening skills Is a team player Retail/Tailor experience an asset BENEFITS: Opportunity to contribute to the overall mission of the organization, meet interesting people and have fun!
