Volunteering opportunity Would you be able to give a little time this Christmas to help those less fortunate in Sheffield, have decent food to eat this Christmas? The Sheffield on a Plate Project is running a food drive, to help local food banks, in the run up to Christmas. The Food drive will be taking place between the 1st and the 19th of December 2014 at the University of Sheffield and at two different sites of Sheffield College. This year we will be offering a Bring or Buy scheme, where we will be selling food packages to donate to the food drive. These will contain all the ingredients necessary for cooking a nutritious meal, along with a recipe card. This means that more people will have the chance to contribute this year and it also means that the food banks will be more likely to get the things that they need. We need volunteers to help us sell food packages at four different locations in the city. These will be at the Students Union, the Edge (Endcliffe Student Village), Sheffield City College and Hillsborough College. Shifts at Hillsborough College, Sheffield College and Sheffield Students Union run from 11:45am-2pm, Shifts at the Edge run from 2:45pm-5pm. We would welcome any volunteers.
