Volunteers Sought for the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council Are you interested in helping to shape the future of the province’s investment in cultural development? We are currently seeking volunteers to join the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council (CNSLC). This council provides leadership to the Nova Scotia government for the development of policy which strengthens the culture sector. The volunteer council, in partnership with government, advises and makes recommendations to the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage on all matters that help to grow Nova Scotia’s creative spirit and enhance cultural activity through investment, investigation, promotion and preservation. A major focus of their work will be to support and advise on a long term strategy for culture. The activities of Council are guided under the authority of the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council Act. The Council’s selection committee and two other sector members will recommend volunteers for the 15-member council. The committee is seeking a range of experience among council members and will work to strike a balance between the arts and the cultural industries, not-for-profit arts organizations and individuals with an interest in helping shape a vibrant culture community. The committee will take into consideration ethnic, cultural and regional diversity and welcomes applicants from all cultural interests. The Council meets monthly from September to June and reimburses its volunteer members for out-of-pocket travel expenses.
