Volunteers needed for Hogsmill Riverbank Creation! Play your part in transforming the Hogsmill River at the Kingston University Knights Park campus. Together with The South East Rivers Trust, we will be constructing natural riverbank/wetland areas to increase habitat provision and improve its appearance. We have already introduced the timber deflectors using site-won material from seasonal council tree works, so the next phase is the BIG one – introducing brash and gravel into the river! We will then plant it up in April. We need lots of volunteers to make this a reality, especially for Phase 2, so please sign up for as many dates as you can! All tools and equipment will be provided with instruction, plus a tasty lunch and refreshments will be laid on. Phase 2: Riverbank building, Sat 15, Sun 16, Mon 17 March, 10am-4pm Phase 3: Planting, Wed 02 April, 10am-4pm For more information and to sign up, please email [email protected] Please also see kubiodiversity.blogspot.co.uk to check out how phase one went!
