Volunteers needed for Mill Race Bingo time slots Members of the Mill Race Folk Society: As Bingo Coordinator for this organization I am always on the lookout for more volunteers to help out with our Bingo sessions. We are allocated 14 Bingos for 2015 and hope to pick up a few extra sessions that other organizations decline for lack of volunteers to cover their time-slots. Last year we did 10 sessions and received $2460.12 in revenue. The monthly proceeds have been rising steadily since the new Bingo model was implemented at the start of last year. The money raised from our Bingo sessions pays for about 1/4 of the tent rentals needed during the festival. At present we have just 6 trained volunteers covering our sessions. So you can see a lot of sessions are covered by the same people and were in need of more volunteers. Bingos are held: Saturday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm Friday nights from 9.00pm to 11.30pm Tuesday evenings from 6.15pm to 9.00pm If you would like to volunteer at an upcoming Bingo you have to attend a short training session first. Please arrange with me to come to one of the volunteer training sessions listed below: Thu Dec 11 – 9.30am to 11.00am Thu Dec 11 – 3.30pm to 5.00pm Sat Dec 20 - 3.30pm to 5.00pm When youre at a Bingo session, you engage with the patrons, call back winning cards to the caller, keep the tables tidy and act as an ambassador for the Mill Race Folk Society. It is not a difficult assignment and the benefits to both yourself and the Society are numerous.
