Volunteers on our Victoria Falls Wildlife Research and Conservation project (see: goo.gl/oSjvS7) joined the Parks staff in the Victoria Falls National Park for a litter pick. The eastern boundary of the Victoria Falls rainforest is located in the no man’s land between the Zimbabwean and Zambian borders. A significant amount of littering takes place from the people travelling between the two countries, most of which finds its way into the thickets of the rainforest. Volunteers focused on picking up litter within these areas and by the end of the exercise they had managed to fill more than 14 black bags with litter which varied from plastic bottles, paper, airtime cards, glass bottles, plastic bags, ice-cream containers and many others items.
