Voters simply dont buy that the market - as represented in this case by Alan Joyce - knows best. Im going to dispute that. I think that the market - as represented in this case by the stock market and the credit assessors - know very well that Qantas is a junk product, and that the actions of the board (including, but not limited to, Joyce) are the main reason behind Qantas poor performance. And voters simply dont want to be on the hook for saving Joyces job.
