Voting chaos worries MEIC Malawi Election Information Centre (MEIC) Chairperson Steven Duwa says acts of violence during the election period may results in creating a negative image on the election system. Duwa said this in reaction to rioting incidents in some parts of Blantyre. Duwa also said other polling centers opened late like Mtantha in Mzimba without any apparent reason. “Voting had to be halted in some polling stations like Lilongwe North West due to lack of materials. We therefore called upon Mec to extend the voting period in all the centers that recorded such incidents to allow voters to cast the ballot paper”, Duwa said. He said the organisation is concerned with wide spread of lack of materials. #ElectionsMalawi2014
