Voting in Pike County, Ohio, was anticlimactic. The candidates for state senator and state representative are Republicans running unopposed. Three other state and county offices are unopposed by Democrats. Democrats are running an excellent candidate for governor, but the latest poll has him 28 points behind. On top of that, the uber-idiotic Green Party chose to only run a candidate for governor in this district, making the long shot even longer. The Ohio ballot is coming to resemble the old Soviet ballots where voter choice consisted of ratifying the unopposed choice of the Party, or voluntarily committing oneself to the gulag.
