Voting reminds me of the books I read when I was much younger. - TopicsExpress

Voting reminds me of the books I read when I was much younger. Jean Paul Sartre used to write about the absolute terror that would seize him when he contemplated just how random life can be. I used to tremble with him because as a young man sampling the night life of Jhb then, I did not know whether such radical contingency could drive me to harm other human beings or perhaps even me. It turned out OK in the end. Same with voting: you go there saying yes, I will vote for so and so but as you get close to that booth, your mind starts playing games until you make that cross and feel a sense of relief. Strange thing, but glad it is over. South Africa forever!!!
