VozarCo, Sylvester J. 83 Connellsville Sylvester Joseph Vozar, 83, of Connellsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at South Connellsville Personal Care Home. Born Oct. 30, 1929, in Connellsville, he was the son of the late John and Mary Klean Vozar. A graduate of Dunbar High School, Joe was the owner and operator of City Auto in Connellsville. Mr. Vozar was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Air Force. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, the Slovak Club, Moose Lodge No. 16, and Eagles Aerie No. 503 (BPOE). His survivors include his wife, Ursula (Murtha) Vozar; his children, John Vozar and wife, Pam, Joseph Vozar and wife, Diane, both of Connellsville, Sue Ann Vozar, of Scottdale, and Mary Frances Hamilla and husband, Jeff, of Connellsville; stepchildren, Joseph Oppman and wife, June, of Newport, Michael Oppman and wife, Estella, of Masontown, James Oppman and wife, Tracey, of Hermitage, Christopher Oppman and wife, Suzanne, of Mechanicsburg, and Mrianne Oppman, of Connellsville; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara Holsing Vozar in 1996. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at RICHARD KUCERA FUNERAL HOME, 127 E. Fairview Ave., Connellsville, where prayers of transfer will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday. A funeral Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, with Father Gerry Juarez as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Brookvale. Memorial donations may be offered to Geibel High School or the Carnegie Free Public Library
