#WA #Flood #Corp Flood Warning for the Fitzroy River Catchment Issued at 11:01 am WST on Sunday 16 February 2014 Western Australia Flood Warning Centre Minor flooding (8.0m) is expected to continue in the Fitzroy River at Willare during Sunday and into Monday. The Fitzroy River at Noonkanbah is expected to fall below the minor flood level (9.5m) later today. For the 24 hours to 9am Sunday rainfall recorded in the upper areas of the catchment from Fitzroy Crossing have been less than 5mm. Renewed river rises with possible minor flooding are possible in the rivers upstream of Fitzroy Crossing during Sunday and into Monday. Isolated rainfall to 80mm is forecast in northern parts of the catchment for the next 24 hours to 9am Monday. Predicted River Heights/Flows: The Fitzroy River at Willare was 8.1 metres at 10am Sunday and steady. Minor flooding (8.0 metres) is expected to continue at Willare during Sunday and into Monday. The Fitzroy River at Noonkanbah was 9.8 metres at 10am Sunday and falling. The river level at Noonkanbah is expected to fall below the minor flood level (9.5m) during Sunday. DFESs State Emergency Service (SES) advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.
