WADA to introduce "steroid passport" before 2014, by Alfons Juck, EME News BUENOS AIRES (ARG): World Anti-Doping president John Fahey has announced that a “steroid passport” will be introduced before the end of the year, informs theage. The steroid passport will be similar to the biological passport which monitors athletes blood looking for evidence of doping. Fahey said that the penalty for first time offenders will be changed from two to four years at WADA’s congress in Johannesburg in November. Penalties for doping athlete’s entourage will also be introduced. Fahey believes that education is a vital part of anti-doping and there are plans that “soon (WADA) will have a module in universities across the world educating students on the dangers of doping”.
