WAIT ON THE LORD PART 3 Ephesians 2:1-10 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 2 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. /// and you hath he quickened by his spirit (for it is the spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profits nothing )In time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air (Satan) which is the same spirit that works in the children of disobedience. We all have our conversation in times past tainted with lust, fulfilling the desires of our flesh. But God who is rich in mercy and the love he has for us, even when we were dead in sin and wholly given over to sin he gave us the ability to be called the sons of God ( see john 1:12-13) by his spirit he has quickened us. We are now saved by grace but grace is only the first step. Many preachers preach that grace is the final step. Which is not true. Grace is the first step and once we receive that grace we are required to grow to believe ON him. (See 1 john 5:10) we are saved by grace THROUGH faith but as it says in James chapter 2 faith without works is dead. We are HIS workmanship, clay in the hands of the potter (see john 14:15 if ye love me keep my commandments) //// James 2:14-26 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. /// what does it profit? Is a man says he has faith but does not do the work, can faith alone save him? NO! If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food and you tell them, be warmed and filled! And you don’t give the things that are needful for the body, what does it profit? If you don’t clothe them and feed them with knowledge and understanding of the doctrine of Christ what does it profit? A man may say I have faith and thou hast works I will say show me thy faith without thy works and I will show thee my faith by my works. Faith without works is dead. You cannot have one without the other. For as the body without the spirit is dead so faith without works is dead also. /// Galatians 2:20 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. /// Christ lives in me and the life I now live I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and laid down his life that I might be able to have life and have it more abundantly! /// 2 Thessalonians 1:2-12 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 2 grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; 4 so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 5 which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6 seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7 and to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 12 that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. /// the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those that do not know god and those that do not obey the gospel of our risen Lord. He shall come to be glorified in his saints and to be admired in all them that believe. Pray that God would count you worthy of this calling to fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness and the work of faith with power that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you and you in him, according to the grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ! /// Matthew 7:7-20 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? 12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. /// ask for knowledge and it will be given, seek for understanding and you will find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you. Everyone who asks receives, and everyone who seeks will find. Everyone who knocks the door shall be opened. If a man comes to you seeking the bread of life, or the word of the living God will you cast stones or be harsh with them? God forbid! Or if he asks of you the meat of the gospel will you bite him or strike him? God forbid! If you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children how much more will your heavenly father give the Holy Ghost to them that ask him? However you wish to be treated, treat others likewise, for this is the Law and the prophets. Enter in at the straight and narrow, for wide and broad is the way that leads to destruction, in other words if the world is going one way its wise not to go that way. Narrow and straight is the way that leads to life and few there will be that find it. You shall know them by their fruits. They either bear grapes or thorns. A good tree cannot bear evil fruit nor can an evil tree bear good fruit, you will know them by their fruit. /// Matthew 7:21-27 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Isaiah 45:22-25 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. 25 In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory. Romans 9:4-8 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 4 who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; 5 whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. 6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. /// we are adopted sons by the blood of Jesus Christ. The children of God are not according to the flesh but are rather counted for the seed which is the word of God. /// Romans 2:28-29 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 but he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. /// again the children of God are not counted according to the flesh but according to the seed. A Jew is not one outwardly according to the circumcision of the flesh. A Jew is one according to the circumcision of the heart. Whose praise is not of men but of God. ///
