WAJIR County warden Zablon Omulako has commended residents for their commitment to protecting wildlife and co-existing with the animals. This is after residents caught a cheetah that was attacking their goats and sheep and handed it over to KWAS rangers. "We have had residents bring in ostrich chicks and giraffe calves who have for one reason or the other been abandoned by their mothers," Omulako said. This is a stark contrast to other parts of the country where human-wildlife contact usually ends with the slaying of the animals.
