Joel 2:28 Scripture Focus: Acts 2 It was fifty days after the resurrection of Jesus and When the day of Pentecost [the Feast of Weeks] came, they were all together in one place (Acts 2:1). About 120 of Jesus followers were gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit... (Acts 2:2, 4). Tens of thousands of Jews had come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Weeks as required in the Law of Moses. Nevertheless this great Appointed Day given to Israel in Leviticus 23 was only a picture, just a foreshadowing of a greater reality that would have its fulfillment on this very Feast Day in an upper room in Jerusalem. There is absolutely nothing that happens in the universe that is outside of Gods influence and authority. He has control of our eternal destiny, and He directs our path. God provides for our needs and works His perfect will through our life. He is sovereign! Insight: No matter what we face in life, take comfort in the fact that God is sovereign. TIME TIME TIME TIME IS AT HAND PEOPLE, REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND, THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE.
