WALTER is in need of his FOREVER bedtime story teller and he is looking forward to meet her/him Please share WALTER WALTER is a miniature Dachshund that has had a real run of bad luck. His mom committed suicide in front of him & his canine siblings...which led to the SWAT TEAM being called in. As you can imagine, this ordeal was extremely traumatic for everyone involved. The animals were seized by animal control & placed into protective custody at the shelter. NMDDB was then contacted to get them all to safety. Little WALTER seems to be the most effected & has had to undergo long term rehabilitation in the care of his amazing NMDDB foster home. He is doing so much better today & we feel he is finally ready to be adopted! WALTER would do best in a child free home that is quiet & calm. Retired parents would be a DREAM for this boy & well, after all he has been through....he definitely deserves to have his dream come true. He is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash & does well with the other dogs in the home. He even knows how to get along with miniature horses After all WALTER has been through, he is a little uncertain with new people (especially men) & new environments but it does not take him long to become comfortable & we are very proud of him!! WALTER is a major cuddler & will be extremely loyal & affectionate with the lucky person he can call his own! WALTER is appx 6 years old & weighs around 10 lbs.
