WALTON — A Lewis Cass teacher will be traveling to Tennessee for a two-week fellowship in June. Zachary Blackwood, a teacher at the school for four years, was selected to participate in the Siemens Teachers as Researchers fellowship. The Siemens Foundation initiative will allow Blackwood and 19 other teachers across the country to participate in hands-on research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Blackwood teaches physics, integrated chemistry and engineering to mainly 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Next year he hopes to also teach computer science.
