Performs as an IDMT, Paramedic, and operational support flyer at home station and austere deployed locations. High Ops tempo environment. Individual will be required to perform broad functional responsibilities encompassing all areas of medical support for special operational forces. Provides medical support and casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) for AFSOF and other SOF units. Tasking includes, but is not limited to; preventive/occupational healthcare, routine healthcare, urgent/emergent point-of-injury trauma care, forward resuscitative/stabilization, aeromedical decision making, aircraft mishap investigation, CASEVAC of injured/ill personnel and medical support for humanitarian operations, NEO, CA missions, UW missions, FID missions, healthcare engagement, healthcare capacity building and healthcare infrastructure development capabilities ISO COIN operations, stability/security operations and medical support for other unique USSOCOM missions/taskings. Additionally, personnel utilize all sources of medical intelligence and develop medical threat assessments and advise SOF commanders how to mitigate potential medical threats. Furthermore, SOFME personnel provide appropriate aeromedical dispositions for ill or injured aircrew/other special duty personnel. The SOFME is specifically trained and equipped to provide SOF mission support and to establish bare base operation in austere, forward and/or sensitive locations. Early reporting desired. Qualifications 1. Must be at least a MSgt with a seven skill level and must already possess SEI 496 Independent Duty Medical Technician (members currently enrolled in course J3ALR4N051C00AB are eligible to apply however selection will be contingent upon successful course completion), and be a current National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) or higher. 2. Must have a minimum of three years experience in their applicable AFSC. 3. Must possess, as a minimum, a secret security clearance. 4. Complete Class III flight physical and have it certified according to AFMAN 48-143. 5. Must be in excellent physical condition and must be a competent swimmer. Profiles restricting members participation in regular strenuous aerobic and anaerobic exercise will not be permitted. 6. Must have exceptionally high motivation and the aptitude necessary to excel at Independent Duty Medical Technician (IDMT) and emergency medical technician-paramedic (EMT-P) formal training schools. 7. Must be prepared to go TDY extensively. There is a possibility that potentially greater than 50% of the members time could be spent TDY. 8. Able to obtain four years retainability as of reporting month. 9. Must have excellent military bearing, appearance, and high moral standards. No history of mental instability and must demonstrate high professional and military qualifications. No UIFs, Articles 15, history of financial instability or other disciplinary actions. 10. Must be able to work independently and under austere conditions. Member must not have a fear of the dark or confined spaces. Initiative, flexibility and good communication (oral and written) are a must for these positions. 11. Have an overall rating of four or higher on last five EPRs. 12. Be able to swim a minimum of 15-meters (one pool length) while wearing full combat uniform (excluding boots). 3. Be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain an official passport. B. I have consulted with the Senior 4N090/4N000 and determined member meets all requirements for this assignment. 6.
