WARNING- GRAPHIC!!! Id like to share a story with everyone… as long as Ive been doing rescue, Ive always been against people tying their dogs out in their yards, and this is why… I do not allow my adopters to tie my dogs out in their yards and if they do not have a secure fence for a dog that needs one, then I do not allow them to be adopted to that home. Tie outs do not rectify and unsecure yard and usually end up in devastating situations like this one. This is a story about a little dog who was dealt the wrong hand with the owners she was given. Her is Tippy- she has a 9 month old #Australiancattledog #blueheeler puppy and she was picked up by animal control after enduring excruciating pain when her leg was wrapped with the tie out she was tied to buy her previous owner… Her foot was wrapped for several hours and possibly even days, and she lost circulation. The foot died and became necrotic and eventually fell off. Tippy was found with the stump of the leg and a severe fever from infection… Had she been out there much longer, she wouldve most definitely succumbed to her injuries and infection. Thanks to the staff at KCAS, the Friends of Kern County Animal Shelters Foundation and Bakersfield Veterinary Hospital,Tippy now has a chance at a normal and fulfilling life! Her leg was amputated from the shoulder down, and after several rounds of antibiotics and pain medication, she is now running wildly like a normal nine-month-old puppy should! You would never know she had three legs 😊 Tippy is now available for adoption through our organization and you can apply for her at petmatchmaker.org or Petfinder/shelters/CA1377.HTML Tippy loves other dogs and she is very playful and spunky and she would make a wonderful play companion. We would like to see her go to a home where she is well loved as an indoor/outdoor pet and has a nice big yard to romp in for the rest of her long life! #bakersfield #rescuepup #petmatchmakerca Please share and cross post far and wide so people know not to use tie outs, and hopefully more animals can avoid injuries such as Tippys! Thank you!
