WARNING! For those of you who will starting a new Bible Reading plan this year (again for some) allow me to clue you in on Satans primary attack. If you focus in on reading the Bible through in a year, which means 3 or 4 chapters per day, you are inevitably going to miss a day now and then. Then you will frantically try to catch up in your reading to get back on track. Then 2 or 3 days get skipped and it becomes a chore and a drudgery to catch up on that many. Soon you miss a week and realize that you can never catch up on that many chapters. So what happens? You give up reading at all, and Satan is pleased. What law says that if you fall behind you have to catch up? Show me the verse of Scripture that tells you to read a specific number of chapters each day. Yes, do your best to be consistent and to make a part of every day, but if for whatever reason you miss a day, just pick up where you left off. DONT let Satan pile on the guilt that since you havent kept up the pace that you should just quit!
