WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINTHEARTED!! By Lyson Sibande Let me share something with people that are accusing me of questioning God, lacking the Holy Spirit and being Satanic just because i critique the Bible and ask frightening questions about what they think are non-questionable areas. I will never defend myself from accusations, because i know that there is absolutely nothing new in my questions. When i enrolled at a certain University in East Africa, I began to study Theology which i dropped in the second year. In the Theology classes, i studied under the feet of Theology Professors, and my classmates were mostly experienced and practicing members of the Clergy. What i discovered the few times i studied Theology is that Theologians are free in the privacy of their classrooms to ask every question about religion, they criticize Bible authors, they criticize grammar, they question certain incidents in the Bible etc.. but they will never do the same when they get on the Pulpit. when it is time to preach, they will pretend all is well in the Bible when they just criticized the book in the classroom. One time at school, i saw a group of Theologian scholars doing an assignment which one of the most powerful Theologians and Lecturers I have ever known had given them. The assignment was for them to research and discuss on the Originality and Inspiration of the Bible. The reason was that they had covered in their course that The Gospel that Jesus taught was not entirely his own teachings. Jesus had copied some of his teachings form other religious teachers from the East etc.. (which were not Jewish but gentile) and the question was that if Jesus copied some of His teachings, then is the Bible original? and where is Inspiration? These practicing members of the Clergy and Theologians were doing the research, but i know that none of them would dare to share with his congregation that Jesus teachings were not entirely his, and that he had copied from others, and hence the Bible is not entirely original. And finally, go and read research papers (dissertations, thesis) of theology scholars,Read exegesis of theology experts and their books and find out how honest they are when they dig into scripture. Theologians and members of the clergy are very honest in their classrooms, and on papers, but they are not honest enough when they are on the pulpit, or teaching their churches and congregations hence many people do not know the deep rooted questions and truth about their faith, and when someone ask very simple and basic truths, they go about weeping, accusing, cursing, feeling sorry and inviting the Holy Spirit. I understand, that if Theologians and members of the Clergy begin to be honest in Churches as they are in books and classrooms, they would confuse those with little faith and scatter the sheep, but thats a dilemma that churches created right from the beginning of Christianization because they came to indoctrinate and condition our faith. For example, what would happen if today, all members of the Clergy and Theologians agree that the Biblical day of Worship is Saturday and that the Bible did not change that? the whole global politics and economy will be affected, and that would lead to global disorder. As a result they would rather continue lying to everyone. So God back to your Church ministers, go back to the Bible, go back to History, go back to books, and after that come again to my inbox and my wall and accuse me again of being satanic and lacking the Holy spirit whatever that means.
