WARNING RANT: Im just going to be completely honest right now...Im so tired of this style of thinking! Black people are not supposed to do what some consider white peoples things-To-Do and white people are not suppose to do whats considered black peoples things-to-do. All we are doing is limiting all of our own experiences. Life is way too short to put limits on what you can and cant do based on the color of our skin. Now Im not completely ignoring the authors point as if we dont still have racial issues in our world because we do. But someone please tell me how tf does this help with that? Where were these articles about her when she didnt have a hit?? And Im not necessarily defending Iggy, especially considering I worked on her album so I could definitely be perceived as being bias. But im honest enough to admit I dont know a damn think about her personally, how she grew up, or what music and culture she loved in the process. Unless Im willing to go speak with her for myself about her life, go visit where she grew up, research her friends and extra school activities then Im not going to make a public assumption about her either good or bad. You think by looking at the color of a persons skin you can automatically know how they grew up?? Do you think because a person grew up in another country where you didnt grow up that you know everything that went on there culture-wise? Do you think southern culture only stayed in the south?? Man why are we so judgmental?? What gives me the right to tell another person what they should or shouldnt be doing? I get this same sht in reverse for liking, making, and playing electronic dance music but who tf are you to tell me what speaks to my soul, motivates, inspire, and move me to action everyday. Leave people tf alone and try to expand your own damn experiences during this short thing called life (*exhales: ok I feel better now...back to my normal fun posts lol)
