**WARNING!! Rant ahead!!!** INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE THE SPAWN OF SATAN...ESPECIALLY HUMANA!!! I took my daughter to the doctor today...a doctor it took us YEARS to find! FINALLY a doctor that doesnt want to OVER-medicate her. Instead of taking 8 different medications...some controlled substances, he found ONE medication that was designed for her specific diagnosis...which she is off the charts...and is NOT a controlled substance. Said doctors appointment cost $145 because they dont take Humana insurance. They dont take Humana because Humana can take up to TWO YEARS TO PAY THEM!! So, $145 out of pocket! AND the prescription is non-formulary, so it will cost $400... THATs $545 A MONTH for treatment she HAS TO HAVE!!! This is ridiculous!!! Who can afford this?? This is not a new drug, its been out for years! AND, its a medication that she responds well too...AND its a medication that we can have around and not fear that someone is going to bust our doors down to get their hands on to feed their addiction! This is CRAZY!!! And THIS IS NOT AN OBAMACARE ISSUE!!! We had this SAME issue with Humana after Rebecca Parker had her tumor removed and had to have more than 20 therapy visits to re-learn how to do EVERYTHING SHE LOST WITH THE NERVE DAMAGE THAT WAS CAUSED BY THE SURGERY!!!! They also wouldnt cover the medication she needed for the nerve pain, so we had to pay out-of-pocket to the tune of $300 a month for Lyrica. That was all YEARS BEFORE the Affordable Care Act! This is INSURANCE COMPANIES and DRUG COMPANIES holding us hostage!!! And theres not a DARNED THING I CAN DO ABOUT IT BUT PAY THE $545 AND SCREAM IN ALL-CAPS IN HOPES THAT ENOUGH PEOPLE WILL RAISE ENOUGH OF NOISE TO CAUSE A REVOLUTION...or maybe we should move to CANADA or EUROPE where they have Universal Health Care for people who work instead of just people who have to live in poverty!
