WARNING!!! THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG POST. To God be the glory - for great things He has done. Lord Jesus I thank you for my trials and tribulations that I have experienced in the past 24 hours. You made a way again when there seemed no way. You worked it out. let me summarize for everyone. My car stopped on me in Shelby County headed to Columbiana to do a jazz Concert for the Shelby County Arts Council accompanying BJ Reed featuring the music of Dinah Washington and Billie Holiday. Traveling via I-65 (driving alone) meditating I made it to my exit, Alabaster, turned off the interstate ready to proceed to Columbiana using County Hwy 26. The car stopped at the traffic light, stalled out and I could not get the ignition to start again. Thats when I called on Jesus and all the Saints to pray. It was broiling hot outside and traffic was mounting around 3:30 p.m. so school had just ended. There were lots of cars on the road honking their horns - observing that I could not move, I kept praying and calling on Jesus to rectify the situation to either help me get this car started or to intercede in a way that only that I know He could. Well stressed it was apparent that the car would not start gain after numerous attempts. Just then The Lord dispensed 3 of his earthly angels to my rescue. They were across the street in a parking lot and they came running to assist. Reaching the car they asked Man, can we help? What seems to be the problem. I replied the car has stalled and I can not get it to start. They said Man, dont worry about it. We will help you get out of the street. We pushed and I steered the vehicle into a Chevron service station across the street. I thanked the guys for helping me in my time of distress and said a prayer of thanksgiving to The Lord for seeing me through this bump in the road. After getting out of the car and back in again, I tried to reach someone thats when I registered my distress cry and prayer for help on Facebook. Thank God for my iPad, because my phone was getting low on power. Within seconds seemingly the saints began to pray because I could feel the power of God moving and I knew that He was going to make everything alright. I didnt know how but just had the faith that he would. I tell you that God dispensed an army of His angels who began praying immediately and touching bases with me and agreeing. I mean within milliseconds the people of the Facebook Congregation were responding asking could they help and even offered to come get me from as far away as 75 miles. They gave me multiple encouraging words and kept me lifted up as I waited for a miracle to help me resolve this dilemma and get me to the concert venue for the evenings dress rehearsal which was to begin at 5:30 p.m. I called the singer (BJ) to let her know that I was having car trouble and I was in Alabaster. She had not left Tuscaloosa coming this way yet. I knew that at least 5 cars with people from Tuscaloosa would be passing. So I just wanted to catch someone before they left home. I am so glad that I prepared to be there at least 2 hours before everyone else was going to get there. I wanted to relax from the drive and settle down and get comfortable with the venue. I called my brother (Jesse) who is always looks out for me to let me know what was going on, and we sent text messages back and forth. During this same period of time there was a gentleman at the Chevron fueling his vehicle. He cam e over to offer assistance and asked if there was anything that he could do. I explained the situation and he informed me that there was a Auto Repair shop right behind the station that he often uses for his car repairs. I thanked him for the information and he said that they should be open. I walked behind the building and they were open. I talked to the guys and they agreed to come around to the Chevron to help me get the car down there. The shop was behind and down a hill. Look at God. All the guys had to do was to push it in the street and once it was there it just coasted on down the hill with one of the guys steering it into the shop. You talking about blessings and God paving the way. I understand that highway in the dessert phrase in the Bible now clearer. This is getting long, but I just wanted to give God the glory for ordering my steps and being a present help in the time of trouble. The shop did a diagnostic and found that the radiator had blown. Fluid was everywhere under the car. After some time the mechanic told me that the radiator would have to be replaced for starters and that it may have blown the head gasket and we were talking about money. I said thank you sir, but no sir. I am going to call my brother. Jesse spoke with the mechanic. Jesse and I both agreed that I did not need to do anything right now. He said that he would arrange from his end to come down and we would tow the car back to my house. Meanwhile we are getting closer to concert time and my phone was about to go out. I am grateful that I could iMessage and Facebook on my iPad. BJ called back and said that her girlfriend was leaving Tuscaloosa and was headed my way and would pick me up - when she came through. LOOK AT GOD. WORKING THIS THING OUT WITH EVERYONE LIKE CLOCK-WORK. RECAP: Distress - Safety - Assistance - Providing people to be in place at the right time and place - Regene came to get me and we still made it to the venue on time. One of the band players was also en route to get me (Charles Cooper). I let him know that Regene had come to pick me up and I would see him shortly at the venue. Jesse was on his was and I arrived at the venue about 6:00 p.m. My brother is GREAT. THE BEST BROTHER in the whole wide world and those of you who really know me - you know that I say this all the time. He and one of his neighbors came and I left my keys with the will call office at the venue for him to pick up because he was going to arrive while the concert was going on. He and a neighbor rented a U-Haul and towed it back to my house in Tuscaloosa. The show went on as planned without a glitch, and God allowed me not to be stressed from all of the occurrences prior to the concert. The night of music went great to a packed house and everyone enjoyed the evening immensely. Again - THANK YOU GOD FOR TRAVELING GRACE, ARRIVING MERCY, GUARDIAN ANGELS, PRAYER WARRIORS, FACEBOOK FAMILY, FRIENDS, MY BROTHER AND ALL PERSONS WHO HELPED AND PRAYED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE FORM OR FASHION. Thanks to my twin (Levert Hedgemon) for calling and texting although I could not be reached because the phone battery was drained. Thanks Janice Drew and others for your inspiring words of encouragement and prayers. TO GOD BE THE GLORY - GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!!!!!!
